Five Years in the Warsaw Ghetto – Bernard Goldstein

Bernard Goldstein spent the war in the Warsaw ghetto. In his book, he provides insights on the complete existence of the ghetto.  He was one of the organizers of the ghetto uprising, though had to escape the ghetto before it started in order to acquire weapons, and was not able to join the fighters. He did much to assist the survivors after the crushed rebellion. Later, he took part in the Warsaw rebellion.  It’s an incredibly powerful book and probably perfect for anyone who has little knowledge of what happened in the Warsaw Ghetto from an insider’s perspective
